AMAZON’S HIGH-HANDEDNESS

Cover - The Breaking of Liam Glass - a punctured football lies on the road in a golden sunrise

I’d appreciate your help dealing with Amazon’s high-handedness. Some time ago on Amazon I had well over 100 reviews of my first novel, the satirical The Breaking of Liam Glass – the majority 5 star. But out of the blue Amazon decided to start deleting them.

Now the book is left with 94 reviews in the UK, 68 in the States. And no explanation as to why.

This is important because we are told that a book needs to have over 100 reviews for Amazon to start taking it seriously and marketing it.

So near yet so far.

Can you help?

The Breaking of Liam Glass centres on a journalist who tells a small lie to sell a story and puts a young boy’s life at risk.

Those who have reviewed the book have loved its gripping plot, satirical edge and credible, strong characters. They were what I particularly enjoyed writing. They also praised its insights.

Like all my books, it focuses on the way ordinary people get themselves unwittingly entangled in difficult moral choices.

It was an Amazon genre best-seller and has been nominated for two international awards.

I’m proud of my debut and Blue Coast Publishing have come out with a beautiful new cover for the second edition. I want people to enjoy it.

But with Amazon deleting my reviews, who will read it?

You could help. Did you post a review of The Breaking of Liam Glass that isn’t there any more? Could you take a minute to have a look?

If it’s gone, maybe you could repost it.

Or maybe you’ve been meaning to post a review, never got round to it. Now would be a really helpful time to put it up. If you do, email me to say you’ve done it.

Or maybe you’ve been meaning to read it. You can buy the ebook from Amazon at $2.99/$3.99, order the paperback from your local bookshop or read it for free if you subscribe to Kindle Unlimited. Plus, I have a few ebook review copies I can send out, if you email me before they go.

If you can’t cope with digital books, I also have a very few paperback review copies I can post out, depending on where you live. But get back to me fast, because they could go very quickly.

Posting is easy

Posting a review is very easy, if you’ve not done it before. It should be in your own words – say what you really think – and need only be a sentence or two if you want.

You can post a review to The Breaking of Liam Glass here.

Exciting news to come

Finally, I have some exciting news coming in just a few weeks. If you like my books so far, you’ll want to see this. Watch this space.
